If you are going to hunt in Texas
this year and were born AFTER
Sept 2, 1971, you will need to take a hunter's education class to be able to hunt in Texas.
Here is a calendar of classes taught

INTRODUCTION TO HAND GUNS
If you are a new hand gun shooter or are planning
to advance to being one, this course might be
just right for you.

Class Taught by Jack Denham 

Where: Elm Fork Shooting Park
When: Saturday, Febuary 6, 2010
Time: 9a - 12p / Price: $25

The "INTRODUCTION TO HAND GUNS" course is NOT a CHL course but
rather a prerequisite for the CHL training for new shooters as well as a
great refresher on Safety and gun handling for the accomplished shooter.  

  
Taught in a classroom, different types of weapons such as semi autos,
revolvers (single & double action) and others are explained.  The course
covers safety, ammunition types, uses, concealment methods, ballistics,
safety, handling, stance, balance, grip, trigger pull and sighting (and
SAFETY!). Subjects including 'Stress Management' and 'Situational
Awareness & Perceptions' will also be covered. The mental conditioning
as well as physical conditioning is critical to successful use of a handgun.
This course is not a boring technical one but rather one which focuses on
YOUR individual needs.  The course material covers video, presentations,
actual weapons and samples.

No 'tests' or 'exams' just Fun & Education.
 
The course is for "instruction and handing" only, it does not include
actual shooting.  Jack is always glad to assist any students desiring to
go to the range after the class for live shooting, in which case all the
normal range fees, etc, would be extra.
 
This course is being offered to DIVA members in the DFW Metroplex. 
However, if there is someone who is not a DIVA member that would like
to attend, they are also welcome to register.  (This includes men, women
and young adults (ages 14 to 17 accompanied by parents, please.)

Sporting Clays & More
Arlington Sportsman's Club, CR 525 in
Mansfield, TX hosts monthly club shoots
that are open to both members & non-members.
The sporting clays shoot is on the
2nd Sat of each month.
Non-club members pay $25 to shoot
a course of 100 targets, a great price!
Other shoots include:
1st Sat - 5-Stand
2nd Sat - Sporting Clays
3rd Sat - Skeet
4th Sun -Trap
They also offer rifle/pistol/
blackpowder/archery.
