The Fall Clinic went very well last weekend. As always, we could not have the clinic without your help!!!
Thanks to Jeanie & Wendy and all the crew at Elm Fork. Everyone bent over backwards to help us, especially on the rifle and pistol ranges. The entire range just continues to be updated and improved. We are so blessed to have such a great place to shoot and gather to enjoy our outdoor sports!
We had 100 participants, VERY FEW complaints and PERFECT weather!! As a group we introduced outdoors and firearms to 70+ new people!! This is the strength of us as a group. Our teaching and firearm education is more important now than ever!! This clinic would not be the teaching success that it is if it were not for all of you who instruct and volunteer your time and effort!! The attendance by participants was a bit smaller than the spring clinic, but actually we were able to teach everyone in a much more relaxed time frame!! YEAH!!
It was great to see so many of the ladies out with their fly rods, the new Castaway Rods (thanks, Gena), and the hunting dog 101 group all right by the pavilion. Thanks to Collins, Gonzo and Greg... Dallas Bass-N-Gals who looked great down by the creek and to Amy & Brandon and Denny, and all the beautiful dogs, too.
Hope you all liked the new set up for BB Gun & Compound Bow. Special thanks to all the great guys from Martin Archery (happy birthday, Bill) and as always, Steve & David who manned the Daisy sponsored BB Gun instruction.
Even though we were able to only offer .22 pistols, there was always a line waiting for pistol instruction. You guys (and gal) looked great and did a wonderful job with the ladies!!! Thanks for many years of hanging with us. Will, what would we do without YOU?!
And the rifle and black powder rifle range was also busy, busy...right up to the very end of the clinic. We had some new instructors and some who have been with us for years. Marietta, you did a wonderful job of putting together the course of fire. We were happy to David back with us and Jim, too! (Brad, happy birthday to you!) Randy, heal up quickly (that's another story!!) Thanks to DWWC for the loaner rifles!!
Charlie, those ladies sure kept the BP instructors busy!! Your guys were very popular!!!
Wendy Robertson and the beginning shotgun instruction was a hit and kept busy nearly all day...thanks, Melanie for helping there...Plus, John Rea & Sherry Otto had the intermediate ladies very busy on around the Woods course. That was a long day in sun, but you two looked like you were 'country clubbing' it with all the acutrements set up!
Thanks to all the DIVAs who were point people. You made the day go smoothly at the shooting disciplines.
Hope you all enjoyed the special raffle at lunch just for you and the lunch, too!!
If you have any comments or suggestions, please send them to us...we appreciate your ideas.
The 2010 Spring Clinic is already scheduled for March 20th (with a FUN SHOOT the following Saturday at Elm Fork on the 27th). If you would like to instruct or volunteer at this clinic, please send us a note. We'll start adding names to our list now!!
In our humble opinion, these clinics are the most important events of our DIVA year. Thank you all for taking time to share your knowledge, skill and experience with our women!! We couldn't do it without YOU!!
Sincerely,
Mystii Nekuza,
Clinic Chairman
